National Nutrition Week

National Nutrition Week (NNW) was established during the 8th Chinese Nutrition Society Executive Council. NNW was set as an annual event happening on the third week of May. Main organizers include Chinese Nutrition Society, National Institute for Nutrition and Health in Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Institute of Food and Nutrition Development in the Ministry of Agriculture, and Institute for Nutritional Sciences SIBS Chinese Academy of Sciences. The first National Nutrition Week took place on May 17-23, 2015 and the launching ceremony was held on the 12th China Nutrition Science Congress. 

National Nutrition Week aims to raise the public awareness of evidence-based nutrition knowledge and practice through multiple channels. The long term goal of NNW is to boost the food consciousness, health literacy, nutritional life style and healthy behaviors on population level.

2015 National Nutrition Week Agenda
Organizers: Chinese Nutrition Society, provincial nutrition societies and related organizations
Time: May 17th to 23rd, 2015 (Sunday to Saturday)
Theme: Nutrition for Healthy Life
Beijing Main Venue: Opening Ceremony of NNW, 5km race, 12th China Nutrition Science Congress, and public places promotion (in supermarkets, squares and parks, etc.) 
Provincial branch venues: designed by provincial nutrition societies according to the main venue activities.
