Chinese Nutrition Society(CNS) was a subordination of China Physiology Science Society since 1956, and registered as an independent social entity organization in China Association for Science and Technology Association in 1981.

Chinese Nutrition Society is a national scientific social group consisting of nutrition professionals. It is a unit of the China Association for Science and Technology and a country member of the International Union of Nutrition Sciences.

The leading body of CNS is the member representatives meeting which delegates its right to the council while closing. The current council is the 6th one directed by Dr. Keyou Ge, the president of CNS.
